Schuerenberg takes two
Open-wheel up-and-comer
Hunter Schuerenberg
scored two sprint car victories on the weekend, the
first on Friday night at I-69 Speedway in Gas City,
Indiana where he narrowly edged the dominant Jon
Stanbrough and the second Sunday night at Kokomo
Speedway (IN).
Herring grabs second win of '07
Drew Herring earned
his second win of 2007 at Southern National Raceway Park
(NC) in the first of two 75-lap late model races.
Herring dominated the event, beating
Curtis Truex to the
checkered flag.
JR Motorsports driver Scott Young captured the
win in the second 75-lapper.
East
dominates at ORP
Hometown driver
Bobby East led
every lap of the J.D. Byrider 100 USAC Silver Crown
Series race at O'Reilly Raceway Park (IN). East, who has
scored victories in all three major USAC series in 2007,
led a 1-2 finish for A.J. Foyt Enterprises as teammate
Pablo Donoso finished 2nd.

Alex Yontz took the
lead from
Jake Crum on lap
118 and wheeled his way to his second UARA victory of
2007 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Yontz becomes the first driver to visit Bristol's
victory lane since the repaving of the half-mile oval.
Crum dominated the event until ceding the lead to Yontz
and ultimately spinning out of the top-five on lap 132.
He would finish 21st.

B.J. Mackey
finished 3rd while rookie
Matt Leicht scored
a top-ten finish, coming home 9th.

It only took one quarter of a lap for
Joey Logano to earn
his fifth Grand National Division win of 2007, this time
taking the checkered at Adirondack International (NY).
Logano edged veteran Bryon Chew and fellow
youngster
Sean Caisse at the
start-finish line. Caisse finished 3rd, followed by
Maryland driver
Marc Davis in 4th
and 2005 South Boston Speedway champ
Peyton Sellers in
5th.
Logano retains the GN East Series point lead after the
win. Sellers and Caisse are 3rd and 5th, respectively,
in the standings.

After battling Jerry Coons and
Josh Wise,
Mississippi four-star prospect
Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
took the lead on lap 22 and never looked back, winning
in USAC Midget action from McCool Junction (NE).
Coons finished 2nd in the 30-lap sprint, followed by
series point leader
Darren Hagen in 3rd
and Wise, a development driver for Michael Waltrip
Racing, in 4th.
