Optimus Prime won’t be the only one making headlines
this weekend.
Blackboard-ranked prospects
Jeff Choquette and
B.J. McLeod will
lead the charge for young racers at New Smyrna (FL)
Speedway’s annual Clyde Hart Memorial 125 on Wednesday.
Choquette, a contestant in 2005’s Roush Gong Show, is
coming off a win this past weekend at the track. McLeod
won the track title and the Brighthouse Challenge Series
championship in 2006.
South Boston Speedway’s
Adam Barker, who
saw his win streak snapped recently by 19 year-old
C.E. Falk, will look to defend his home track
against all comers on Tuesday night.
Douglas County (OR) winner
Brian Ickler will
attempt to make it two-in-a-row on Wednesday night at
Irwindale (CA) Speedway in the Grand National West
Series. Last year’s winner
Andrew Myers
returns and will be joined by rookie
Alex Haase this
week in the King Taco 200.
As the PASS South late models tackle Peach State (GA)
Speedway,
Ryan Lawler looks
to add a third victory to the 2007 win total.
Cassius Clark,
who’s found more success in the PASS North, and
Corey Williams,
also a winner on the PASS South season look to contend
for the wins on Tuesday night.
Stay tuned to DSM for updates on all of the action on
Independence week.
